I love words. I know it might be hard to believe, but nearly every class I took in college had something to do with reading, writing, or language. I was an English major with minors in Professional Writing and Linguistics, so I was quite literally obsessed with the English language. I am addicted to learning new vocabulary words; in high school, I practiced vocabulary for 15 minutes a day even though we only had to do it for 15 minutes a week. I still remember the day when my sophomore-year English teacher told me, “Good job on your Membean!” It continues to give me chills ten years later.
Even if you’re not the biggest reader, you’re painfully monolingual, or you don’t use fancy vocabulary words in your everyday life, you can still have fun messing around with language! These wordy memes with make any folks who can read English chuckle.
