Every type of social media attracts its fair share of strange and broken people. You don’t create something that is all about getting individuals to draw attention to themselves without platforming a few crackpots along the way.
We see this in everything from the self-important zealots of Twitter, to the screen-addled Gen Zs of TikTok, to the decaying Boomer purgatory that Facebook promises. Picking which one your prefer is kind of like choosing a favorite pile of vomit, if said vomit gave out addictive dopamine hits.
The one thing that unites all platforms is that it’s incredibly easy to go off the rails on them. Internet brain is an incurable disease that is only supported by these places.
