It takes a village, so the saying goes. But honestly, it’s true. Whether that village is just your family, your friend group, or your neighborhood block, sometimes it takes more than just you to help raise your kids right.
Recently, a mom let pettiness get the best of her, but instead of it backfiring, justice was on her side and it not only worked, it unintentionally created a beautiful neighborly bound with her families and the other families living around her. You see, what happened was a very inconsiderate ice cream truck man.
Her kid went to the ice cream truck to get some ice cream. But instead of her little treat, she got a lollipop and stiffed in change. This kid is very numbers savvy, so knew exactly what she was supposed to get in change, but the driver pulled away before she could even say anything. Defeated, she went back homer and when her mother saw how sad she was, she became livid. No one puts baby in the corner. So the mom drove to Costco, bought a giant box of ice cream sandwiches and gave them away to the neighborhood kids for free. Her kid made new friends around the neighborhood and now nobody had a need to purchase anything from the ice cream truck.
The ice cream truck stopped coming and by pleasant happenstance, when they ran out of treats, the other families started buying treats to pass out to the kids and a cute little shared snack society blossomed. It’s beautiful what being petty can do sometimes.
