At the time you are reading this, I will probably be taking a break. Still, part of me feels like I should put the word ‘break’ in inverted commas. I already have a full to-do list of chores that need finishing before going back to the grind, and a whole other work project that I will probably be dedicating a lot of this day to. At least I might get more of a lie in, although even that is up for debate.
It’s not that I’m ungrateful for this extra time. Quite the opposite, I’m glad to have a breather. Nonetheless, it would be nice if it was less about getting other things done, and more about relaxing. Life maintenance is a pain in the butt, and having to balance it with work even more so; it means that all the memes which relate to the workplace just hit even harder. We can’t cry about it when we’re searching for humor.
