One of the most infuriating things about using social media is that it’s full of people prone to telling tall tales. It can occasionally seem like we can’t go a single day without some bozo making something up for engagement, and what’s even worse is that many of us end up believing them.
Of course, a lot of these lies are just inconsequential BS. Many of the most eligible entries for the Didn’t Happen Awards are just insecure individuals who want to give themselves something to brag about, or make a point about a topic that is really neither here nor there.
As well as this, it can be a lot easier to sniff out these petty untruths than some of these people would like to think. When you’re spilling to an audience of thousands, it’s likely that at least a couple of them will have reasonable doubts. One thing’s for sure, sometimes the callouts are funnier than the lies themselves.
