Just imagine the amount of embarrassment this lady could have avoided if she just minded her own business. When I’m at the grocery store, I have one purpose: to get what I need as quickly as possible and as cheaply as possible, yet some people have way too much time on their hands. So much time, in fact, that they can confront other shoppers and insult the way they dress.
This Karen felt entitled to do so because she was convinced that the other woman was an employee at the store. The woman, of course, was not an employee whatsoever and shared her side of the story via this thread on Reddit’s r/IDontWorkHereLady subreddit. Karen marched over to the manager and tried to get him to shame OP. Considering OP was just another shopper, he obviously corrected Karen but he did realize that OP bore a strong resemblance to a real employee.
That being said, let’s examine Karen’s thought process even further. If OP were an actual employee, that still gives her no right to insult her outfit. She didn’t wear anything offensive, she didn’t break any laws, and if she did work there, nothing she was wearing would be interfering with her job. In other words, even if Karen was right and OP did work at the grocery store, she should have minded her own business and kept her thoughts to herself. Everyone would have had a better afternoon.
