Despite our negative outlook and potent pessimism, there are actually things that we enjoy in this world. There’s raindrops on roses, and whiskers on kittens. We’re into bright copper kettles and warm, woolen mittens. We can really get behind brown paper packages tied up with string. But most of all, we love watching lying pieces of sh!t get called out for their bullshit. We love it when it happens to scummy lowlifes trying to trash local businesses (it’s usually the owner of a competitor) as much as when big media is called out for misleading headlines and piss-poor “journalism.”
One place to enjoy this particular brand of schadenfreude is the r/QuitYourBullshit subreddit, a veritable treasure trove of slimy and sus liars getting taken down by the subjects of the lies or plain ol’ good Samaritans. We are fans of both kinds of callouts, and are especially fond of the examples that feature famous people putting deceivers in their place. At the end of the day, the group is another reminder that people will catch onto your lies, no matter how smart – or famous – you are.
