If you work for a company that prohibits overtime, then under no circumstances should you ever be working off the clock. When one redditor asked their boss if they could switch to a day shift so that they could communicate with HR during regular work hours, the boss emailed back saying, “you have a company laptop, answer those emails from your house.” The employee maliciously complied and did the work from home, making sure to carefully log their hours for when they planned on requesting the (prohibited) overtime.
