Well, it finally happened. If anything, it’s shocking that it didn’t arrive sooner. AI generated art has started to go viral for being NSFW, and the response has been as frenzied as we might expect.
You’d think nobody had ever seen Sports Illustrated cover before when a photoset of scantily clad and ample breasted women burst onto Twitter late last week. The twist was that they had all been entirely created through the power of artificial intelligence.
When you look closely at these pictures, it’s easy to see the flaws that a machine just can’t smooth over; there’s a few too many fingers here and there, and some weird things going on with their teeth. Not even the horrors of FaceApp could mess up a real woman that badly.
Still, it didn’t stop the user that shared the pictures from declaring ‘It is SO over’. It’s not clear whether they were referring to real nudity, pornography as we know it, or that the entire female gender was about to go extinct, but it certainly got people talking. They started making memes, too, all containing a variation on this self-satisfied caption. If nothing else, they remind us that sexual attraction is very subjective.
