Getting confused as an establishment’s employee while you are just shopping around can be embarrassing and annoying. But when you have time to spare and a manager comes huffing and puffing at you that you’re not at the meeting, this is an opportunity for a hilarious life experience. After you get past registering in your brain what is happening to you, maybe just go with the flow and see where it takes you. Maybe you’ll organize an employee walk-out or at the very least get an employee discount.
This is exactly what happened to one Canadian on vacation. This guy was doing some camping in Georgia and before heading back home, he decided to stop in a Target for some goodies. It just so happened that on this particular do he was wearing a very nice red polo shirt. If you have ever been to Target, you’d know that a red polo shirt is the employee uniform. So while this customer was perusing the aisles, a manager came storming towards him.
Before he could register what was even happening, this Target manager was reprimanding him for not being at the all company meeting. He tried to tell him that he didn’t work there, but the manager was not taking ANY excuses. So the customer turned employee, decided he had some time to spare and wanted to see where this would go. Also, he’s Canadian, and he just really didn’t want to be rude…
So he went to the company meeting, learned a little about working at Target, partook in the delightful Chili’s catering they had for all the employees, and when the hour long meeting was over and he left and went to go check-out with his purchase, the cashier gave him an employee discount.
Sometimes being the butt of a confusing situation has its perks!
