The Great Unknown is always going to inspire a lot of art. Whether it relates to space, the future, wild technological advancements, or some insane combination of the three, our only limits are our imaginations.
While fantasy might deal with anything and everything that we consider to be completely implausible, the beauty of sci fi is that much of it explores the realm of possibility (well… kind of). It might be true that we don’t see lightsabers and intergalactic travel in our future just yet, but that doesn’t mean we can’t think about what might happen if they were here.
It also opens up an entire genre of nerdy memes to enjoy, based on the movies, books, and shows that have captured the hearts and minds of people the world over. The characters may be fictional, but the stories they tell and the jokes they produce still have a lot of power.
