We’re living in an interesting time for working remotely. I’d say 90% of my friends are working hybrid or remote jobs, and only a small handful work five days in the office. I’m lucky that I entered the workforce during this era; the last time I had to be at the same place five days a week was when I was in high school, and my life has gotten significantly better since then.
I don’t think working 100% remotely is for me, but a ton of workers thrive being able to do all of their work from home. My dad worked from home for years before the pandemic, and it gave him flexibility that most workers can only dream of. One remote worker who relocated for his fiancee’s job had a rude awakening when, over the course of a year, his position went from being fully remote to completely in-person.
