Don’t look now but… the leaves are turning. It’s a beautiful time of year where I am, and my favorite for fashion. It’s cold enough that you can layer to your heart’s content, but it’s warm enough that you don’t have to hide your well-considered fit under a bulky winter jacket. I can decide on the spot whether I want my coffee iced or hot, because either one flies right now. There’s a hitherto unnamed spice that finds its way into every product at the grocery store. Friends are making plans to go apple picking. Apple picking is always more fun in theory than in practice, but never mind that.
One of my favorite things about autumn is also one of my least favorites. The sun setting earlier of course is a painful reminder that the dog days of summer are behind us. But it also means more time spent cozy under a blanket, sipping tea and scrolling through a feast of fresh memes.
